Product Management Rotation
PM rotation on the mentorship experience in Workday Career Hub, taking a 96.2% non-engagement baseline through discovery, PRD, and a three-release roadmap.
Mentors was the first opportunity type displayed in Career Hub and still averaged 3.8% engagement across the customer base. I diagnosed why using 12 months of usage data and customer feedback from Workday Community. Suggested mentors were strangers, and there was no informal way to test fit before committing to a formal mentorship request, which produced analysis paralysis. I defined personas, the problem statement, and success metrics, wrote the PRD, and built a three-release roadmap that prioritized a lightweight messaging path over heavier redesign options. I also benchmarked the team's slide-out card and carousel enhancements after launch and measured a 144% usage increase, which fed the value-realization analysis behind the roadmap.
Delivered
- Defined the conversion metric, mentor saves plus mentor requests over total unique suggestion views.
- Researched three candidate features, an informal Send Message action, richer mentor preview cards, and expanded filtering facets, and ranked them on customer demand and build cost.
- Success targets set, 50% of engaged users sending a mentor message and a 10% lift across combined mentor engagement events.
- PRD plus three-release roadmap with acceptance criteria, aligned on scope and resources with senior leadership.
- Sequenced filtering on suggested content last because it depended on the Machine Learning team, a dependency the earlier epics did not carry.
- Presented the metrics analysis and enhancement recommendations directly to the Career Hub PM team, who used it in release planning.
- 144% usage increase measured on the slide-out card and carousel enhancements, benchmarked against first-launch data with Engineering and Product.
- Second workstream, owned refinement and delivery planning for Workday Student multi-institution enhancements, running five design sessions and three refinement sessions through to production deployment.
